I've Got a Dream.....

Because it is Martin Luther King Day, my friends and I from the office got a break from criminals, paperwork and lawyers, so we decided to use our freedom on our own dream.....Quilting on a weekday. I am working on a fourth of july quilt. I didn't get done but here is some of it. It's a little bit of Gypsy Quilting, it is a stack and whack which I don't necessarily love, but hey if the corners don't match, I can blame that. It will be fun to watch the fireworks on anyway.

Child's Play Quilt Top

I finished a quilt top and I found the fabric for the back on sale so I am excited to get this one done.......some day. The pattern is called Child's Play by Chickpea Sewing Studio.

A Late Happy New Year!!! I have been plagued with car problems for the last two weeks and it makes me mad!!!!! Anywho....This is a picture of the cutest dragonfly door knocker ever, and so besides the usual resolutions of exercise, eat better, worry less, read more, da da da da da.....I am going to paint my front door and hang it. Hopefully by spring. I love it!!!!

Quilts

Here are the quilts I am working on. Hopefully some day I will get one done. The pink owl quilt is my first quilt I started in a quilt class, the yellow is Blair's old quilt I want to remake, and the pinwheel blue and white squares are from a book I bought about 10 years ago....I have been wanting to do this for that long...and I have been saving levis for about that long, and I think I even bought the white on white garden fabric then because it had started to turn yellow....But it feels good to be sewing again. Maybe I can get some creativity going!!

So.....This is my first blog and I hope to make this interesting enough to look at....We'll see. Anyway, I love to look at all the blogs. I just started quilting this year and I have been following blog after blog and it is so fun. I haven't finished a quilt yet, but I hope to finish my very first one all the way, quilting and all. I love the quilt because it has owls in the material and ironically we had an owl move in to our tree in the backyard so I love it. If I ever figure how to attach the pictures I'll show you. I am also taking apart an old quilt my husband has had forever. I think his mom pieced it and quilted it. I want to keep all the good pieces and add some new and redo it. I guess my cute daughter will have to come and help me add the pictures...so stay tuned......:)
